This Cookie Policy explains how Vantageflow Technologies Private Limited (“Vantageflow”, “Company”, “we”, “us” or “our”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you access or use the MyLifeVault website, web application, mobile application and related services (“MyLifeVault”, “Platform” or “Service”).
This Cookie Policy should be read together with the MyLifeVault Privacy Policy, the MyLifeVault Terms of Use, the MyLifeVault Disclaimer, and any other applicable privacy notices.
Cookies are small text files or similar identifiers that websites may store on your browser or device. Cookies can allow a website or application to recognize a browser or device, maintain a login session, remember preferences, maintain security, understand how a service is used, measure performance, prevent fraud, provide requested functionality, or support other legitimate purposes.
Generally deleted when you close your browser or when the relevant session ends.
Remain on your device for a defined period or until you delete them.
Placed directly by MyLifeVault or Vantageflow.
May be placed by third-party services integrated into MyLifeVault.
MyLifeVault may also use technologies that operate similarly to cookies, including local storage, session storage, software development kits (SDKs), authentication tokens, security tokens, and other technologies required to operate or understand the Service. For convenience, this Cookie Policy refers to these technologies collectively as “Cookies and Similar Technologies.”
Depending on the features implemented in MyLifeVault, Cookies and Similar Technologies may be used for authentication, account security, maintaining sessions, remembering preferences, providing requested functionality, fraud prevention, application performance, diagnostics, analytics, measuring product usage, improving the Platform, and other purposes described in this Policy. We seek to use Cookies and Similar Technologies only for legitimate and disclosed purposes.
The following table lists every cookie actually set by the MyLifeVault web application as of the “Last Updated” date above. It is reviewed each time authentication or session handling changes.
| Cookie name | Set by | Category | Purpose | Duration | Party | Consent required |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
session |
MyLifeVault (first-party) | Strictly Necessary | Keeps you signed in as you move between pages; stores no document content, only your session identity. | Browser session (deleted when the session cookie's own lifetime expires or you sign out) | First Party | No — exempt as strictly necessary under applicable law |
remember_token |
MyLifeVault (first-party) | Strictly Necessary / Security | Set only if you tick “Remember me” at login; lets you stay signed in across browser restarts without re-entering your password. | Up to 365 days, or until you sign out or revoke it | First Party | No — exempt as strictly necessary under applicable law |
Both cookies are configured with standard browser-level security protections that restrict how and when they can be transmitted or accessed, consistent with current best practice for keeping a login session secure. Neither cookie is shared with, or readable by, any third party.
Functional technologies would allow MyLifeVault to remember choices or preferences such as language, interface or display preferences. MyLifeVault does not currently set any functional cookie beyond the two listed in Section 5; any interface preferences saved today are stored server-side against your account, not in a browser cookie.
MyLifeVault does not currently use any analytics or performance-monitoring cookie or SDK. If analytics tooling is introduced in the future, it will be added to the Section 5 inventory, and where applicable law requires consent for such technology, it will be activated only after that consent is obtained.
The session and remember_token cookies described in Section 5 double as MyLifeVault's security technologies — they authenticate requests, maintain session integrity, and support fraud and abuse prevention. Security technologies operate regardless of whether any optional (non-essential) technology is later introduced and disabled.
After you sign in, MyLifeVault needs to remember that you are authenticated so you don't have to sign in on every page. This is done entirely through the session cookie (and, if you choose “Remember me,” the remember_token cookie) described in Section 5. The mobile application uses an equivalent bearer-token mechanism stored in secure on-device storage rather than a browser cookie — see Section 11.
If you choose to authenticate using “Continue with Google,” the authentication process may involve cookies or similar technologies operated by Google as part of its own sign-in flow. Google's processing of that information is governed by Google's own privacy documentation, not this Policy. MyLifeVault does not control, and cannot disable, cookies set directly by Google's own systems during that flow.
The MyLifeVault mobile application does not use browser cookies. Instead, it stores an authentication token in the device's secure storage to keep you signed in, and may in the future use a push-notification identifier if notification features are enabled. It does not use advertising identifiers, cross-app tracking SDKs, or third-party analytics SDKs today.
The MyLifeVault web application may use browser storage mechanisms such as local storage or session storage where technically necessary for application state or short-lived UI preferences. Document contents are not stored in browser storage; they are retrieved from and persisted to the server on each use. Sensitive information is not written to browser storage.
MyLifeVault is designed to store potentially sensitive documents. Cookies and Similar Technologies are not used to store the actual contents of your documents, and are never used for tracking or advertising purposes. Document contents are processed exclusively through the Platform's authorized application and storage architecture, governed by the Privacy Policy.
MyLifeVault does not use advertising cookies or cross-site advertising trackers of any kind. If Vantageflow ever introduces advertising or targeted-marketing technologies, this Cookie Policy will be updated first, and users will be given an appropriate consent mechanism before such technologies are activated, as required by law.
Some MyLifeVault features rely on third-party infrastructure that could, in principle, set its own cookies or similar identifiers — for example, Google Identity Services during sign-in. As of the Section 5 audit date, no other third-party service integrated into MyLifeVault (application hosting, database) sets a browser cookie of its own; these operate purely as backend infrastructure. Vantageflow does not control cookies placed directly by third-party websites or services outside the MyLifeVault environment.
Because MyLifeVault currently sets only strictly-necessary cookies (Section 5), no cookie-consent banner is presented today — strictly necessary technologies are exempt from consent requirements under applicable law, and there is nothing optional yet to consent to. If MyLifeVault introduces any non-essential cookie or tracking technology in the future, a proper cookie-consent/preference-management mechanism will be built and presented before that technology is activated, and this Policy will be updated to describe it.
Because no optional cookie currently requires consent, there is no consent to withdraw as of the date of this Policy. Once optional technologies are introduced, you will be able to withdraw consent at any time through the preference-management mechanism that accompanies them, without affecting the lawfulness of processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Most modern browsers allow you to view, delete or block cookies, block third-party cookies, receive warnings before cookies are stored, or manage website permissions generally. You can use your browser's privacy or security settings to manage MyLifeVault's cookies. However, blocking the session or remember_token cookies described in Section 5 will prevent you from staying signed in to MyLifeVault.
Mobile operating systems provide controls for app permissions, notifications, and application storage. The controls available to you depend on your device and operating system. Changing such settings may affect certain MyLifeVault mobile features (for example, disabling notification permissions will prevent reminder notifications, if and when that feature is enabled).
Some browsers and devices provide “Do Not Track” or similar signals. There is currently no universal technical standard for interpreting every such signal. Because MyLifeVault does not use tracking cookies of any kind, this has no practical effect on your experience today; if that changes, Vantageflow will handle applicable browser or device privacy signals in accordance with the relevant legal requirements.
See the Duration column of the Section 5 table for the actual retention period of each cookie MyLifeVault sets.
Vantageflow reviews the MyLifeVault website and application to identify Cookies and Similar Technologies following major application releases, introduction of a new third-party service, changes to authentication, or changes in applicable law. The Section 5 inventory reflects the most recent such review.
The Section 5 audit found no cookie set directly by a third-party provider on the MyLifeVault domain, other than what Google's own sign-in flow may set on Google's domains during authentication (Section 10). The Privacy Policy contains additional information regarding third-party service providers and processing of personal data generally.
The session and remember_token cookies are associated with your account identity and therefore constitute personal data under applicable law. Such processing is governed by this Cookie Policy together with the MyLifeVault Privacy Policy.
Vantageflow applies standard browser-level security protections to the cookies it sets, restricting how and when they can be transmitted or accessed by other scripts or sites, consistent with current industry best practice. These technical controls reduce, but do not eliminate, all security risks.
If you believe your session has been compromised, you should sign out of MyLifeVault, change your password, secure your email or Google account, and contact info@vantageflowtech.com.
MyLifeVault does not currently process any payments or subscriptions, so no payment-related cookie or technology is in use. If paid subscriptions are introduced, any third-party payment provider's cookies will be disclosed here before that feature launches.
MyLifeVault does not use marketing or advertising technologies of any kind. If that changes, appropriate disclosures and consent mechanisms will be provided where required, and marketing technologies will never be given access to the contents of your private MyLifeVault documents.
MyLifeVault does not knowingly use tracking technologies to profile children. Where MyLifeVault processes information relating to children, cookies and similar technologies associated with such processing will be handled in accordance with applicable law and the MyLifeVault Privacy Policy.
The collection or use of information through Cookies and Similar Technologies may constitute processing of personal data. Such processing is governed by applicable data-protection law and the MyLifeVault Privacy Policy. Where consent is required for a future technology, Vantageflow will provide an appropriate mechanism to obtain and manage that consent.
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in MyLifeVault functionality, new cookies or technologies, changes in third-party providers, or changes in applicable law. The updated version will contain a revised “Last Updated” date. Where required by law, we will provide additional notice or obtain consent.
